HELEN SHAW FRIENDS OF TRANSIT AWARD
This award is given to an individual in the transit field. Helen Shaw was an administrator for the Six County Association of Governments. She started her career at the Salina Senior Center. Helen was very involved with URSTA and was instrumental in getting URSTA started. At URSTA conferences, Helen befriended new members and always went out of her way to make everyone feel welcome. She always made sure to sit by new people and kept in contact with URSTA members. She worked hard for URSTA and assisted agencies in any way that she could. URSTA created the Helen Shaw Friends of Transit Award in her honor.

KAE DRAPER OUTSTANDING TRANSIT SYSTEM AWARD
This award is given to a transit system. Kae Draper lived in Park City, Utah, and recognized a need for public transportation. The Park City’s economy was booming and she knew the Park City residents and visitors would benefit from a public bus system. After doing research and planning, she started talking to city officials and residents about her ideas. Ms. Draper worked very hard and her persistence and dedication paid off. Kae Draper is known for creating Park City Transit from the ground up. Park City Transit is one of the most successful transit systems in the state. The system is fare-free and over the past decade, the system has seen tremendous growth.
After the success of Park City Transit, Kae Draper became an advocate for transit for the entire state. Ms. Draper teamed up with other transit individuals and created Utah's first statewide transit association. In 1988, Utah's Urban Rural & Specialized Transportation Association (URSTA) was created. Kae Draper sat on the board of directors and was very involved with URSTA. Kae Draper was a huge advocate for URSTA and she used her knowledge and expertise to assist transit agencies in Utah. URSTA created the Kae Draper Outstanding Transit System Award in her honor.
